The Story Behind MV Mobile Detailing

About Me

I'm Martin Velinov, and I opened MV Mobile Detailing just before I turned 17.

I've always been a petrolhead — cars and bikes have been part of my life since I was young. I've always been drawn to working with my hands, fixing things, and building something real.

​

Outside of work I box and train at the gym regularly. That same discipline — showing up, putting in the hours, not cutting corners — is exactly how I approach every car I work on.

​

I'm known for being organised, disciplined, and making sure everything is done right — properly, not rushed. Cleaning and organisation have always given me a sense of control and clarity. Not many people think about how much a clean, organised environment can change the way you think and approach things — and it's often the first impression that says everything about someone before they've said a word.

Detailing became one of my biggest passions because it lets me combine all of that — working on different cars, delivering real, visible results, and going beyond a basic clean into proper paint correction and ceramic coatings that genuinely protect and add value to someone's car. There's something about the process I genuinely enjoy — when I'm working on a client's car, everything else fades into the background.

It's not just been my passion — it's been my focus. I've spent hours learning and perfecting my craft, because I never wanted to just be "good enough." Every technique, every product, every skill has been earned through hours of getting it right.

When I started, things weren't easy. Me and my dad had to start again from zero — leaving somewhere we didn't want to leave, with nothing guaranteed ahead of us. He's been by my side through all of it. It's just the two of us — no one else — so we look after each other.

I got my driving licence the day I turned 17, and I put every penny I'd saved from detailing as a hobby into my first van. It hit hard fast — insurance ended up costing more than I could physically afford on my own. For a while, my dad drove me to jobs after finishing his own work, just so I could keep building this.

In March, after turning 18, I decided to go all in. I built my own custom setup, kept reinvesting in better equipment, and went full-time. Slowly, I built up the trust of clients and local businesses who backed me — and that support meant my dad and I were finally able to move somewhere quieter, with more space, somewhere I could really commit to this properly.

I'm now full-time, and the business keeps growing. Looking ahead, I'm hoping to open my own unit in Shropshire before too long — giving me a proper base to deliver even more while still keeping the mobile side running for clients who want me to come to them. I've already completed multiple training courses in machine polishing, ceramic coatings, and other core detailing techniques, and there's more on the way as I keep building MV Mobile Detailing into what I always wanted it to be.
